Ah yes, Summer weddings. We don’t usually do a Feature Wedding blog hard on the heels of another, but we are so dizzy with excitement for our packed Summer wedding calendar that we keep reminiscing and drooling over images of Summer weddings past. So we want to keep sharing! And the wedding of the delightful Alexandra and Josh was epic Summer perfection in all its glory. This smart and discerning couple selected two drop-dead gorgeous venues for a start. Rebagliati Park for the ceremony, a tranquil and lush oasis in the very centre of Whistler village, with the rushing waters of Fitzsimmons Creek as its soothing backdrop melody, and the Whistler Sliding Centre for the reception, an iconic piece of Whistler’s Olympic legacy which happens to have absolutely stunning views over the valley below. The wedding day dawned on a picture perfect bluebird day, deliciously warm and clear. As the temperature soared on the thermometer for the afternoon ceremony guests (and planners too!) were delighted that this thoughtful bride and groom had invited Whistler’s own Lucia Gelato (see their link here) to bring along their mobile cart with a selection of unbelievably yummy and cooling gelatos and sorbettos, for apres ceremony treats. The fun moved on to the Sliding Centre where wedding party and guests enjoyed a fabulous reception, dinner and dancing late into a warm and velvety Summer evening. Sigh. Summer weddings, if you’re anything like this one, we can’t wait till you get here.
